Variable Rate Applications

VRA’s are used as a means of applying a varying volume of either liquid or granular product to an operation area based on growth variation obtained by collecting NDVI data.

This collected growth information is then processed, and a prescription is created to suit the requirements. This data is then transferred to the drone. Accuracy is paramount, so the NDVI data, and application, are made using RTK, for millimetre precision.

VRA’s offer potential savings to growers, targeting areas of low or poor growth, weed infestation or other invasive species or insects, applying only the required amount of chemical of fertiliser to any given area, reducing input costs and environmental impact. All done without any crop damage of ground compaction!
